Big Thank You + Exciting Updates!
Hey everyone! First off, I just want to say a HUGE thank you for all your feedback this past week. It’s been truly incredible and so insightful! Seeing people play and react to the game has been both humbling and motivating.
Before diving into the updates, I want to share something personal—I’ve been working on this game solo for the past seven months while balancing a full-time job and family. I can only dedicate around five hours a week, which explains the slow progress. But despite that, the game actually made it to the front page of itch.io for two consecutive days! That alone means the world to me. 💙
I have a big vision for this game—multiple levels, different enemy types, and fun turret mechanics. But for now, my main goal has been to polish and balance just one simple level with two turrets and two soldiers. If I can make this single level truly fun, then the game can grow into something even greater.
Now, onto the updates!
🛠 Turret Clarity Fix
A lot of players were confused about whether a turret was friendly or not—especially since it was shooting at them! Initially, I left it this way to show the turret’s fire rate before activation, but that turned out to be a terrible idea. 😅 So, I stopped the turret from shooting pre-activation and added VFX + sound effects to make it clear when a turret is successfully activated or upgraded.
🎯 Better HUD Visibility
I was worried that the HUD and counters at the top of the screen might be distracting, but turns out it was the opposite—many players didn’t even notice them! So, I added some subtle animations using easing functions to make the UI more engaging and noticeable.
🔫 Smoother Turret Shooting
Speaking of animations, I also used easing functions to make turret shooting feel more dynamic and satisfying!
This is just the beginning, and I have so many more plans and fixes in the pipeline. Progress is slow but steady, and your support makes all the difference. If you’ve played the game, thank you! If not, I’d love for you to try it out and share your thoughts.
More updates coming soon—stay tuned! 🚀
